Onto the next adventure…

As many of you know the Christmas shopping season 2017 in Me & My Friend didn’t go quite as I had hoped it would! Shortly after the Worcester Victorian Fair I had to have emergency eye surgery for a detached retina, scary stuff!

The upside was that during my enforced time away from the shop I was able to do a lot of thinking. The shop lease would be up for renewal in 2018 but did I want to continue the business in its existing form?

I have always loved the quirkiness of our little shop in Reindeer Court but it got to the point where it was this quirkiness which was holding us back. There very few straight walls which made displaying clothes a challenge…I think I had fixed slatwall onto just about every bit of spare  wall I could find!

I realised that by moving the business online all these space limitations would be removed. It would also make everything much easier to run – My eye problems brought it home just how exposed you are when running a business by yourself, especially when things go wrong. My husband was brilliant and worked hard to keep everything going over last Christmas but he would be the first to admit that his levels of expertise do not extend to baby clothes and Peter Rabbit! (He is however an excellent Accountant & Hypnotherapist and links to his businesses can be found on the links page of this website!)

The downside was that I loved the social aspect of the shop, meeting new people every day and chats with regular customers. I have therefore tried to make Me & My Friend more than just another impersonal website. As many of our regular customers know I have launched our new club, ‘Friends of Me & My Friend’. As a thank you for supporting our shop and as a welcome to the new website we are sending out a 25% discount code to all club members by email. If you would like to become a member and haven’t done so already please sign up by entering your email address in the sign up box at the bottom of the home page.

I am also offering free delivery to all the following postcodes, WR1, WR2, WR3, WR4 & WR5 and a free Click & Collect service from my house in St.Peter’s, Worcester.

To keep in touch with everyone I hope to hold various pop-up events and will continue to offer our popular home shopping parties. For more details on these please click here.

I hope you like the website – please get in touch if you cannot find what you are looking for. I will be gradually adding more and more products so if you have any suggestions for new products please let me know.
